A “Chinese Café” event was held yesterday during lunchtime by Global Studies students ChoKai and Daido Ichika. The purpose of the event was to give Takeda students an opportunity to learn a bit of Chinese language, culture, and to make friends with similar interests. This will be a weekly event, and for the initial session, ChoKai and Daido san prepared presentations about the regions in China from which they hail, Xi An and Halbin. Upon seeing the presentations, students commented that, “I was impressed by the rich history, and really wanted to try the food from Xi An. It looked delicious!” and, “the winter events of Halbin seemed very fun. I’d like to go there!” ChoKai and Ichika did a wonderful job and we look forward to next week, when they will teach us some useful Chinese words and phrases. Appreciation of other cultures and student-centered learning are hallmarks of our global studies program. Our students’ efforts are the most important part of what makes Takeda a great environment for International Education.  

火曜日の昼休憩に、Global Studies Course（GSコース）でインターアクト部員である張 嘉怡さんと大東一華さんによる「チャイニーズ・カフェ」を開催しました。このイベントの目的は、武田生に中国語や中国文化を学んでもらい、同じ興味を持つ友達を作ることです。中国に繋がりの深い2人が自発的に企画してくれました。今回は嘉怡さんと一華さんがそれぞれの出身地である中国の西安とハルビンについてプレゼンテーションを行いました。「歴史の深さに感動しました。」「西安の名物はおいしそう！」「ハルピンの冬のイベントはとても楽しそう。行ってみたいです！」等、参加した生徒達が感想を述べていました。今後も毎週火曜日の昼休みに継続していく予定で、次回は、嘉怡さんと一華さんが役に立つ中国語の単語やフレーズを教えてくれることになっています。武田生の皆さん、お弁当を食べながら中国の文化に触れたり、中国語を学んだりしてみませんか？

バックグラウンドがユニークな生徒が沢山いることは武田の財産であり、これからも生徒主体で異文化理解学習を展開していきます。
