On Sunday, November 13^th, the annual Japanese Speech Contest for foreign residents living in Higashi Hiroshima was held at Sun Square. Takeda’s exchange student, Finley Heptner, competed against University and Graduate school students from countries throughout the world. In his speech, he spoke of the connection between climate change and peace, and the importance of working together to tackle global warming. We are extremely proud of the hard work that Finley put in preparing for the contest, and the passion with which he delivered his message. There are just five weeks left in his stay at Takeda High School, so please share precious time with him.

11月13日（日）、毎年恒例の公益財団法人東広島市教育文化振興事業団主催の東広島市在住の外国人を対象とした日本語スピーチコンテストが東広島サンスクエアで開催されました。ドイツからの留学生フィンリー・ヘプトナー君は、世界各国から集まった大学生・大学院生と競い合いました。スピーチでは、気候変動と平和の関連性、そして地球温暖化に対して共に取り組むことの重要性を訴えました。このコンテストのために懸命に準備したフィンリー君の努力と、彼のメッセージを伝える情熱に、私たちは大きな誇りを感じています。彼の武田での生活も残すところあと５週間ほどになりました。皆さん、彼との貴重な時間を有意義に過ごしてください。
