World Religions: Islam

 

　　The best way to study a foreign culture is to go there. The second best way is to talk to someone from there. This is the idea behind our new guest lecture series on World Religions.

　　Two guest lecturers from Hiroshima University spoke to the Jr. High first year classes yesterday. Mr. Tuswadi and Mr. Tugu showed pictures and spoke about the language, culture, and religion of their country, Indonesia.

　　Their stories and smiles definitely left an impression on the Takeda students, who learned all about the customs and traditions of Islam. The lecture was both in English and Japanese. Thank you very much, Mr. Tuswadi and Mr. Tugu! You have helped make our classroom a more global one.

　Who will be the next guest lecturer to visit Takeda? Wherever they come from, they will definitely leave us with a better understanding of their country and culture.

国際講義シリーズ

世界の宗教－イスラム教

　外国文化を理解する一番の方法は現地に行くことですが，その次の策はその文化出身の人と語らうことです。武田中学校で実施している，ゲストを招いての世界の宗教に関する講義の背景にはこの考え方があります。
　昨日，中学校1年生の「国際理解」の授業に広島大学から2人の留学生を講師としてお招きし，イスラム教についての講義をしていただきました。インドネシアからの留学生，トゥスワディさんとトゥグさんが母国の言語，文化や宗教について，写真を交えてお話ししてくださいました。 
　彼らの講義は英語と日本語を使って行われ，その講義と笑顔は武田の生徒達に大きな感銘を与え，生徒達はイスラムの文化・風習を学ぶことができました。トゥスワディさんとトゥグさん，どうもありがとうございました。おかげで教室は今まで以上にグローバルなものになりました。 
　さてさて，次回武田にお越し頂くゲスト講師はどなたでしょうか。それがいずれの国の方であっても，きっと私たちがその国とその文化を一層理解することとなるでしょう。
