3月25日（土）～26日（日）に福岡市の西南学院大学で開催された，西南学院大学English Camp for Global Leadership 2017 に2年1組の藤瀬真麻さんが広島県から唯一参加し，最優秀参加者賞（The Best Participant）を受賞しました。
このイベントでは，「日本はもっと移民や難民を受け入れるべきかどうか」について，グループに別れて英語でディベートを重ね，プレゼンテーションを行うもので，中四国九州から日本人高校生や西南学院大学の留学生が参加しました。
以下は，藤瀬さんのコメントです。
March 25th and 26th, I participated in Seinan English Camp for Global Leadership 2017 to improve my English competence and skills of critical thinking. I took a special lecture about globalization in Japan, developing critical thinking skills and how to give a successful presentation in English. Then, we debated about Camp’s topic: “Should Japan accept more immigrants and refugees?” for presentation.
Of course, all participants had to speak in English during this camp, so I was filled with anxiety before the camp. However, my group members were very positive and active, so we could enjoy working together to build our presentation.
Sharing and presenting my personal viewpoints was very hard for me. However, I learned analysis ability and assertiveness through this experience.
Finally, our group won the third prize in presentation. And I was selected as The Best Participant Award. I think the process of leading the result is more important than the result itself. I will make the most of this experience to keep studying at a university to make my dream come true.
President of Seinan Gakuin University said, “Ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep knocking. It is not just one-time action, but a continuous action, an attitude.” This remark is a magic word to realize my dream.
