オーストラリア（ビクトリア州）からの”JAPAN STUDY TOUR”で10月に本校に来校した20名の生徒の一人Jonathan Tran君から、訪問レポートが届きました。日本での体験記の中で武田への訪問の様子を次のように書いてくれていますので、ご紹介します。

On our last full day in Hiroshima, we paid a visit to Takeda high school where we were able to experience the life of a Japanese high school student.  The school was huge, and had stair cases pretty much everywhere you looked, some even leading to nowhere at all!  The students were very friendly, some were shy but eventually they came around and we got along very well.   After classes, we were given the chance to attend after school clubs.  I decided to visit the dojo with some friends where we had a go with the judo club.  Afterwards, the kendo club wanted to see what we had to offer, and we didn’t fail to impress! (I hope)

広島での最終日丸１日、武田高等学校を訪問し、日本の高校生の生活を体験できました。この学校は大きく、あちこちに階段がありました。その中にはどこにもつながっていない階段(注１)さえありました！生徒たちは皆フレンドリーで、中には初めはシャイな生徒もいましたが、仲良くなり楽しく一緒に過ごせました。授業の後で放課後のクラブ活動に参加することができました。僕は友達と一緒に道場に行き、そこで柔道に挑戦しました。そのあと、剣道では僕たちのガッツを見せなくてはならなかったけど(注２)、うまくできたと思います。

        注１：本校５号館にある特徴的な階段のことです。

        注２：剣道部体験では、防具を着けた剣道部員に竹刀で「面打ち」をする体験をしてもらいましたが、
人を竹刀で叩くということに最初抵抗があったようです。
